Porsche 911 Toy Story Edition: Woody, Buzz, Jessie Models
Porsche continues to expand the 911 lineup into new territories, and this time the German automaker is venturing beyond performance metrics to embrace pop culture. In collaboration with Disney and Pixar, Porsche has created three unique 911 models inspired by beloved Toy Story characters.
nnThe trio of one-of-a-kind vehicles channels the personalities of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie through Porsche's Sonderwunsch personalization program. According to Toy Story production designer Bob Pauley, the design team aimed to express each character's essence through careful selection of materials, colors, and design elements.
nnPreview images reveal three covered 911s with distinctive lighting signatures visible beneath. The model with the prominent rear wing appears designed to embody Buzz Lightyear's "Space Ranger" persona. The Targa-style body on the left likely represents Jessie, acknowledging her character's claustrophobia. Woody will probably receive the standard 911 Coupe treatment with cowboy-themed specifications.
nnThese special 911s will make their public debut on the red carpet at the Toy Story 5 premiere in Los Angeles on June 8, ahead of the film's theatrical release on June 19. The fifth installment follows the toys as they navigate an increasingly digital world, facing challenges from a disruptive tablet device named Lilypad.
nnTimo Resch, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, commented on the collaboration: "Many people fondly look back on their first toy – much like the feeling they experience when they see or drive one of our cars for the first time. We are excited to bring our Sonderwunsch program together with Disney and Pixar once again to create Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie inspired vehicles in 911 form."
nnThis partnership marks Porsche's second collaboration with Pixar. In 2022, the company unveiled a one-off 911 inspired by Sally Carrera from the Cars franchise. That vehicle, based on the GTS trim of the 992 generation, featured a special livery, 996-style alloy wheels, and a custom interior.
nnRather than entering private collections, the trio of bespoke 911s will be sold together as part of a high-profile charity initiative. Proceeds will support three non-profit organizations dedicated to helping children and people in need.
nnWhile valuing one-off vehicles always involves some speculation, the Sally Special sold for $3.6 million at auction in 2022. Given that these three cars are tied to one of Pixar's most successful franchises, expectations are high for an even more impressive final bid when the auction takes place.
